Prayer Points for the month of Iyar (5786)

Updated: Apr 18

PRAYER FOR THE ICEJ

1.      Pray for the ICEJ as it faces spiritual opposition, particularly for the leadership in Jerusalem. We have also received reports of spiritual pressure affecting many intercessors, staff, and leaders involved in the ministry. Let us rise in prayer, lifting the shield of faith, and ask the Lord to be their strength and help in this time of need. “But You, O Lord, are a shield for me, My glory and the One who lifts up my head.” (Psalm 3:3)

2.     Pray for the planning of the upcoming Jerusalem Summit, which the ICEJ will host from June 9 to 11 and also the Envision Asia conference on April 26-May 1. Ask that the Lord would release a clear and prophetic message from this gathering that will challenge and inspire churches and leaders around the world to stand firmly with Israel. ”So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.” (Isaiah 55:11)

3.      Continue to pray that the Lord would lead the ICEJ leadership in acquiring a permanent building, securing the ministry’s place in the Land of Israel. “But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.” (Matthew 6:33)

4.       Over recent months, new opportunities have opened for the ICEJ to support rebuilding efforts and address ongoing needs in the Gaza envelope region. Please pray that sufficient funds will be given to the ICEJ to enable us to meet these urgent needs and effectively serve these communities. “And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” (Philippians 4:19)

PRAYER FOR ISRAEL AND THE NATIONS

5.      Pray for normalization and renewed engagement with the Abraham Accords, that nations in the region such as Saudi Arabia, Lebanon, Jordan, and others would join these agreements and establish peaceful and cooperative relations with Israel. “It is honorable for a man to stop striving, Since any fool can start a quarrel.” (Proverbs 20:3)

6.      Let us pray over the borders of Israel, especially the northern border and the western Mediterranean coast, that the Lord would be a hedge of protection around the land and people. Pray for His covering and protection from any hidden attacks or plans of the enemies of Israel. “Then He arose and rebuked the wind, and said to the sea, “Peace, be still!” And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” (Mark 4:39)

7.      Pray for wisdom and discernment for the leaders of Israel and the United States as they navigate this critical stage of the conflict with Iran. Ask that God would direct their decisions and strategies, grant clarity under pressure, and guide them in these important negotiations. “Therefore, I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence.” (1 Timothy 2:1-3)

8.       Pray for the breaking of the leadership of the Mullahs in Iran. That the Lord would establish new leadership that would be favourable to the growing Church and rule in righteousness and justice. “Thus says the LORD of hosts: ‘Behold, I will break the bow of Elam, the foremost of their might. I will set My throne in Elam, and will destroy from there the king and the princes,’ says the Lord... ‘But it shall come to pass in the latter days: I will bring back the captives of Elam,’ says the Lord.” (Jeremiah 49:35, 38-39)

9.      Pray that the Lord would use this situation to establish new and alternative supply routes across the region, similar to those that once connected the Middle East westward through Israel and Lebanon to the nations. Ask that these developments would bring blessing and benefit to Israel. “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.” (Romans 8:28)

10.   Please pray for the persecuted Church around the world, including believers in Iran and Nigeria, that the Lord would strengthen, protect, and sustain them in the midst of ongoing pressure and hardship. Pray for courage, endurance, and the continued growth of the Church even in difficult and hostile environments. “Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.” (Ephesians 6:13)

Comments

The greatest prophecy yet to be fulfilled in the history of the modern restoration of Israel is the outpouring of the Spirit foretold by many prophets in Scripture (Ezekiel 36, 37; Isaiah 43; Zechariah 12:14). Let us pray that God will complete His work by the Holy Spirit in the Land of Israel at this time.
